God Has Not Stopped Healing His Believers

God Still Heals Today – You Just Have To Ask Him

God has not stopped healing his people because the age of the Apostles in the Early Church ended. So, don’t let anyone tell you that He has. There are perhaps more promises and scripture references for healing, which is part of salvation, that most other topics in the Bible. There are a few things you need to now in order to understand why God heals, how God heals, and why many are not healed. It is true that all you need is faith to be healed, and if you have that childlike type of faith you will be one of those people who can easily receive healing.

But if you are like the rest of the world, you will need a greater understanding of the Bible in order to receive what you want from God. Just look at the world today as an example. If you go online to look up a subject you have to enter into the search bar the subject you are looking for, correct? If it is a one-word subject and you misspell it, chances are that your results will be limited or non-existent.

2 You desire and have not; you murder and envy and cannot obtain; you fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not received because you ask improper.y, that you may consume it on your lusts. –James 4:2-3 (GFS)

When you enter in the search bar the subject you are looking for sometimes the results are limited. This forces you to enter a more descript word or phrase in the search bar. If you change the information you enter, the results you get will get better. And as you refine your search request you start to zero in on better information. This works just for the listings. You enter a search topic and you get a list of results. Now you have to read through the sites provided and qualify the results that showed up. But it all started with just one word or phrase.

Once you get into the actual pages, or websites, or videos, you still have to search for the information you want, but you are one step closer. And this cycle continues until you have the information you are looking for. That is the world we live in. If you call someone you have to have their exact number. If you text someone you have to have their exact number. If you email someone you have to have their exact address. Thirty years ago if you wanted to call someone you dialed 411 and they gave you the number. If you weren’t sure where that person lived the operator would give you the option several addresses with phone numbers.

We have become faster, smarter, quicker, more streamlined and more detail oriented. And here is the most interesting point. This is he Devil’s world. He is the prince and power of the air, it is his lock, stock and barrel. When Jesus was being tempted by the Devil he said that all the kingdoms of the world belonged to him. Jesus did not contest the Devil’s remark.

8 Again, the Devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their grandeur. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give you, if you fall down and worship Me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Go away Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord Your God and serve Him only.” –Matthew 4:8-10

Why wouldn’t we apply some of the principles that makes the world work for the things we want from God? Why wouldn’t we be more specific, more knowledgeable, more informed? And how do we know what things from God we are entitled to have? We have to read the Bible. We get all our information about God from the Bible.

Healing like anything else we want is a matter of degrees

Once we understand that we get all of our information about God from the Bible then our knowledge about biblical things becomes a matter of degrees. To what degree do you know about healing and the promises of God relating to good health? How many scriptures can you recite now about healing? How well do you know the basis for the things you are asking from God?

20 My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from before your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. 22 For they are life to those that find them and health to all their flesh. –Proverbs 4:20-22

Once you recognize that your success with biblical things is dependent, among other things, on your knowledge of of the promises in the Bible, then you will realize it is just a matter of degrees.

If you abide in Me and My words abide in. you, you will ask whatever you will and it will be done for you. –John 15:7

Seems pretty clear and straight forward, right? Well, again its a matter of degrees. You know your ABC’s and you can count to 10, right? How quickly can you do that? Pretty fast I would imagine. And you can do it over and over again without missing a beat. Why? It’s because you memorized them and said them over and over again, thousands of times. They have become part of you. And you are looking to be healed but you can maybe quote one or two scriptures on healing, and not even that fast.

How many healing scriptures can you name right now?

There are hundreds of scriptures relating to health, prosperity, and healing in the Bible. How many are a part of you? Do you sit at night and repeat these healing verses over and over to yourself? Why not.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law he meditates day and night. –Psalm 1:2 (GFS)

If you were going to get a new car, or smart phone or anything else you really wanted, I bet you could tell me everything about it. So why can’t you do the same with healing? Why can’t you recite 10 Old Testament scriptures about healing, and 10 New Testament scriptures? Why can’t you quote me 10 scriptures that state God will give me what I ask Him for? After all, you are using your faith to be healed, and faith is the substance of things hoped for, so you should be expecting it. If you aren’t expecting there is an extremely good chance that you won’t accidentally be healed.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence (confidence) of things unseen. –Hebrews 11:1 (GFS)
