The value of your word, and the value you place on it determines your success in Christ (and for healing)
When you find yourself in need of healing and you begin to look to God for help, you have to realize that it is His Word that heals, or more specifically, faith in His Word. Jesus is the manifestation of the Word of God, He is the Word of God. But until you can grasp the concept of the value that God places on His Word, and live accordingly, your success in receiving the things you ask of God will be spotty at best.
With your word you professed a belief in Jesus. With your word you essentially stated you would follow after Him and the teachings of the Bible, which is the Word of God. With your word you daily say things that you will do; from the littlest thing to the big life-altering things. How well have you kept your word? How many times have you said you would do something but didn’t. How many times do you exaggerate? How many times do you tell little white lies? You realize that, at the very least, big lies are wrong. In reality though, all lies are wrong.
You professed to be a Christian and presumably you understood that the teachings of the Bible might be something you would have to follow. The Bible teaches that Christians are supposed to follow the Ten Commandments (living for Christ will guarantee that you keep the Ten Commandments because we aren’t under the Law). Do you? What about obeying civil authorities? Do you speed while driving? Do you roll thru stop signs? Oh, those are just little things, and they aren’t that important. How can you expect to understand the value God places on His Word if yours, even in the little things, has little or no value?
For by your words you will be justified or by your words you will be condemned. —Matthew 12:37
