What Do I Need To Do To Be Healed?

No matter what, “faith” is the wild-card!

Receiving healing from God is simply a matter of faith and believing. The Bible says faith is a substance and belief is the process. Faith is like a wild-card. No matter how difficult things get; no matter how sick you are; no matter how long you have been saved; no matter what your level of understanding of the Word of God is; faith always works.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. —Hebrews 11:1

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. —Romans 10:17

How do we get faith, or more faith? Simply by hearing the Word of God. While that may be a subjective statement (open to many interpretations); I submit that memorizing the Word of God on the subject of healing, and reciting those verses over and over until they become a part of you, like your ABC’s, is a good start.

NOTE: Below is a link to our YouTube channel which was recently started. The video entitled 17 Old Testament Verses is one that only has Old Testament Verses played over and over for 30 minutes. The audio track is a famous classical piece that most will recognize. The audio track also has a subliminal reading of the same 17 Old Testament verses. Your conscious mind won’t be able to hear those subliminal verses, but your subconscious mind will. If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you want and it will done for you. —John 15:7

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall mediate in it day and night that you may observe to do all that is written in it; then you shall make your way prosperous, and then. you will have good success. —Joshua 1:8

How much faith is required to be healed? Very little. In fact, Jesus said that if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed you could move mountains.

For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.’ —Matthew 17:20

Another parable He presented to them, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. Which is the smallest of all seeds, but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.’ —Matthew 13:31-32

But as faith is merely a substance, it is the believing, the process of using that faith, that brings the healing.

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarded of those that diligently seek Him. —Hebrews 11:6

And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. —Matthew 21:22

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. —Mark 11:24

For truly I say to you, that whoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things that he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he says.’ —Mark 11:23

What is the first thing I need to do to be healed?

That will be the easiest question to answer. After that however, while receiving healing from God is, and always will be, simply a matter of faith, the answers get more complicated. Faith is like a wild-card. Let’s answer the first question. The first thing you need to do to be healed is talk to God about your situation.

Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. —Hebrews 4:6

You need to understand what promises are provided for you in the Word of God (the Bible), and then you need to do what God says to do when you come to Him in prayer.

You have not because you ask not. And you ask and receive not because you ask amiss. —James 4:2-3

Faith and believing (scriptures above) are the keys to availing yourself of those promises that God has in His Word for us. When I said things start to get complicated on the subject of healing; I meant it in the same way that our world is now so complicated that there doesn’t seem to be any easy or simple answers to important question anymore. For even some of the simplest questions we ask every day there seems to be so many conditions, exceptions, limitations, differences, qualifications and interpretations, that some answers have become so burdensome that they are difficult to understand. What was a simple answer in days past, now requires a much broader answer, open to so much subjectivity that it is easy to miss the simple answer. And in this case, the simple answer is God heals all those who come to Him in faith. God’s Word is not as subjective as many would have you think. God does not change.

For I am the Lord, I do not change. Malachi 3:6

Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever. —Hebrews 13:8

What is the 2nd thing I need to know about healing from God?

This too is actually a relatively easy question to answer. You need to know what God’s promises are. You must know what God said in His Word about healing. You need to commit to memory those verses of Scripture that relate to what you want from God.

If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you want and it will done for you. —John 15:7

And for healing, there are many verses of scripture to look at and commit to memory. And that’s a good thing. All those references in the Bible about healing means that God was pretty serious about healing his people; as He still is to this day. Sickness and disease are from the Devil and Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil.

For this purpose, the Son of God (Jesus) was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil. —1 John 3:8

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went around doing good and healing all those that were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him. —Acts 10:38

And his fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all the sick people who were suffering with different diseases and afflictions, and those possessed with devils, and those with seizures, and paralytics; and He healed them all. —Matthew 4:24
